Tu Es Foutu

In-Grid, born Ingrid Alberini in Guastalla, Italy, is an Italian singer, songwriter, performer and arranger whose distinctive voice and sophisticated blend of French chanson, Italian musical heritage and contemporary dance-pop have made her one of the most recognizable European female artists of the 2000s.

Growing up in a family that ran a cinema, Ingrid developed a passion for music, film and performance from an early age. Her artistic journey began through painting and acting, before music became her principal form of expression. She performed in piano bars, musicals and local jazz groups before meeting renowned Italian dance producers Larry Pignagnoli and Marco Soncini, who helped launch her professional recording career.

Her international breakthrough came with “Tu Es Foutu”, released in 2002 and later known internationally as “You Promised Me.” The song became a major European and international dance hit, reaching audiences across Europe, Australia, Latin America and the United States. In 2004, the track reached the Top 10 of the U.S. Billboard Dance/Club chart, establishing In-Grid as an internationally recognized name in dance music.

In-Grid followed her breakthrough with successful singles including “In-Tango” and “Mama Mia,” while her albums Rendez-Vous and La Vie en Rose demonstrated her ability to combine electronic production with the atmosphere and elegance of classic French chanson.

Performing in French, Italian and English, In-Grid has developed a distinctive artistic identity built around her expressive vocals, cinematic aesthetic, glamorous stage presence and sophisticated European style. Her music continues to connect the classic traditions of chanson with modern dance and pop audiences.

With an international catalogue, a recognizable visual identity and a repertoire built around enduring European dance hits, In-Grid remains a distinctive figure in the European pop and dance music scene.
